Hi Franco,

>question is for a heavy user of hydrocodone

Tested for in Standard Drug Tests? NO
Tested for in Extended Drug Tests? SOMETIMES
Detection Period in Urine 3-4 days

Hydrocodone may not cause a positive result in a standard opiate urine test. Many opiate tests test only for morphine (which both codeine and heroin break down into). This is true for both home/business kits and laboratory testing. Hydrocodone does not break down into morphine, and is therefore not detected by these tests.

But home and laboratory testing is available that will detect hydrocodone (and hydromorphone, which it breaks down into). So test results will depend on the particular type of test that is used and whether or not laboratory verification is required. If a home drug test is given and the opiate test shows a positive result (due to hydromorphone use), a laboratory verification might NOT result in a positive test because the lab may only test for morphine. In this case, the lab would NOT be able to verify the original positive result.

This has been the most helpful site so far, but my question is for a heavy user of hydrocodone for 4 to 5 years eating minimum of 15 pill daily, how long would that stay detectable in her system for a over the counter drug test? She says she last slipped in May of 2008 but she failed my drug test this Saturday July the 5th. My daughter says it was from the long term usage. How do I find out the truth?

Thanks

I smoked Marijuana occasionally (maybe every other day or so) for a few months, then I stopped for 2 and a half weeks and smoked a gram and then stopped again for 2 and a half weeks and took two bong rips and then stopped for two weeks and five days and was tested... Will I most likely pass or fail?
I Weight 180 I'm about 6'4 i've been excersizing every other day and even when i'm not "excersizing" i'm reasonabley active

Would you test your own child for drugs? That’s a question I pondered this week. While sifting through the mountain of work e-mails on Monday I ran across one with the subject line “New Product: The new at home do it your own urine drug test”. It caught my attention and visited the web site from www.medicaldisposables.us
What was your first reaction to that subject line?
I opened the mail half expecting to laugh. Really. It seemed too outlandish. I had an image of some tyrannical parent demanding a lock of hair every morning, then using some fancy Jetsons like machine to test it.
Reading the pitch a second time it came off sounding more insidious. It seemed far worse than a parent reading a diary, or checking their child’s online activity on the family computer, or anything else a kid would see as an invasion of privacy. I wondered how I would have responded if my parents tried to home drug test me. I guess that is a natural reaction, especially in this age when it seems like personal privacy is on the decline in just about every aspect of life.
Later on in the week, I did a little surfing online. Wow! This is a burgeoning industry.
Once I went through what the drug test makers and other organizations had to say on the topic I began to reconsider my position. Instead of thinking just about me, I started to consider my daughter. After all, the marketing material is targeted at parental fear, guilt, and suspicion. Even though my daughter isn’t even two, it was effective enough to make me think about the issue seriously as a parent.
I still feel as if home drug testing is an invasion of privacy that surpasses other forms of concerned parental intrusiveness. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) “encourages parents who are concerned their child may be using drugs or alcohol to consult their child’s pediatrician rather than rely on school or home drug testing products.” Over 80% of physicians surveyed in the 2006 Journal of Adolescent Health were against drug testing in public schools because adolescents could view the test as an invasion of privacy. Surely many teens would feel the same way if they were tested at home.
On the other hand I think it’s tougher for parents to stay on top of their child’s life. Based solely on my observations, children are seemingly just as busy as parents what with schools dishing out more homework, sports, music lessons, and the bevy of other extracurricular activities now available. Compared to just twenty years ago when I was a kid, it now seems more difficult to sit down and have unhurried conversations about serious matters. I can see how less quality time could create more apprehension for parents. And I can see how genuine concern could lead somebody to use these home drug test. Especially if a child’s behavior starts to change dramatically.
After all my deliberation, I don t think I can entirely rule out testing when my daughter gets older. I want to believe that Lyn and I can keep our child on the straight and narrow with love, encouragement, attention, and openness. But I know that’s no guarantee.
I am interested to know what other parents think. Is this a crazy product or a reflection of how the world has changed? Perhaps you already administered a home drug test?

As I mentioned before to the 14 day detox. I do not see how only 7 days can cure an addicts drug problem. This is interesting...but I see how it only cares for the health aspect of recovery which is GREAT and not the long term (mental) recovery. This book would work wonderfully after you have been through a detox/rehab and have completed the program.

Keep in mind you should fully complete a drug rehab treatment before attempting to do it on your own.
